You do not have to remove the Grass Gator 3630 from your trimmer to remove or replace the line.

Remove the spool cover by depressing one of the tabs on the spool housing. Remove the spool and spring from the housing by lifting them out. Remove the used string from the spool.

If your trimmer has a curved shaft, use the picture below to install the new line.

If you have a straight shaft trimmer use the second picture as a guide to installing the new line.

Once you determine which of the two methods above you are going to use, cut a 10' piece of .105 diameter line, or a 14' piece of .095 diameter line. Fold the new line in half and place the two loose ends through the two holes on the body of the spool as shown and pull the line tight. Push the loop end of the line into the slot on the spool divider. Wind the line onto the spool with each half of the line on each side of the spool divider. Leave about 6" of line exposed. Replace the spool spring and slide the spool back into the housing- making sure that you stick the ends of the line through the two holes in the spool housing. Replace the spool cover - making sure the tabs click into place.
