The Grass Gator 5600 uses 2 pieces of pre-cut trimmer line 12 inches long. You can use line that is .080 to .105 in diameter. You do not have to remove the Grass Gator from your trimmer to replace the line. If you look around the rim of the Grass Gator head, you will see between the exposed line, two small loops of line.

To remove the line, push on one of the exposed ends until the loop of line begins to expand.

Once the loop of line expands grab it and pull the line from the Grass Gator. Repeat this for both pieces of line.

Once the line is removed from the Grass Gator head, take one 12 inch piece of replacement line, fold it in half and stick each end of the folded line into the two small square holes that are about 1/4 inch apart on the rim of the head, and push the line evenly into the Grass Gator head. It will feed itself through the head and out of two of the brass eyelets. Repeat this process on the other side of the head.
