The GrassGator Ultimate Model 4750 is a Multi-Tool gas replacement head that can be customized to perform many different trimming jobs. It takes either line or blades depending on the application.
For trimming and edging, 3 long lines (10" to 12" long depending on the cutting ratio of your trimmer) give you 6 cutting ends. You can use .080 or .095 diameter line for trimming along solid objects or .105 for open field and edging.
For open field applications, the Ultimate head can take 2 of our nylon replacement blades: models 3610 or 4610.
Easy to load and switch from blades to line.
Push the old line towards the head until the center loop unhooks from the line holder and pull the line out (as directed by the arrows). Do the same for all 3 lines.
The 4750 takes 3 pieces of line about 10" long. The 4750 comes pre-loaded with .095 GrassGator Shaped trimmer line but it can also use .080. You can buy our pre-cut line models 5610 (0.95) or 8040 (0.80) or you can cut your own.
Take a new piece of line and fold it in half. Insert one end in each of the small holes between the line holders. Keep pushing the line until the ends come out of the other side.
Pull the ends of the line to make it even on both sides. Make sure the center loop snaps into the line holder (circled in red).
Do the same thing for all 3 line holders and you are done!
Before you can open the head to replace the blades, you must loosen the safety screw on the bottom of the head.
Look around the side of the head and between the exit holes for the line. You should see a vertical line between two of the exit holes and a shorter line or arrow on the bottom plate that lines up with it. This will be your point of reference for opening and closing the head.
With the bottom safety screw loose, pull the bottom plate of the head and twist until one of the pins lines up with the arrow on the bottom plate. This will keep the head open giving easy access to the posts and the blades. Remove the old or worn blades.
Replace the old blades with new ones. The 4750 can use either one of our nylon replacement blades: models 3610 or 4610. Replace all 3 blades as a complete set. Doesn't matter which side of the blade is facing up (the flat or the beveled side) as long as all the blades are facing the same way. Do not use metal blades.
Twist the head to close it. Make sure the alignment marks on the head (the ones from Step 2) line up again. Tighten the safety screw on the bottom.
Your GrassGator is now ready to use!
