Line loading instructions for the GrassGator 5600 - Trim & Edges and 8030 - EZ Electric
The GrassGator Trim & Edges Model 5600 is a Pre-Cut line head that takes 2 long lines (10" to 12" long depending on the cutting ratio of your trimmer). It comes pre-loaded with GrassGator Shaped .095 trimmer line but you can use .080, .095 or .105 depending on the job you want to do. There is no line to wind or spools to bump to advance more line.
The model 8030 is also a Pre-Cut line head and loads the same way as the 5600 except that it takes only one piece of line instead of 2. It takes .065 or .080 line and comes pre-loaded with GrassGator Twisted line .080. If you have an 8030 follow the instructions below keeping in mind that you only have to do the procedure once for the one line on the head and there are no metal eyelets on this head.
Remove the Old Line
To remove the old line look around the side of the head between the 2 eyelets. You will see a loop of line between the eyelets. Pull on the loop to remove the line. Do the same thing on the other side.
If:
- There's no line in the head then go straight to the next step.
Get the New Line Ready
The 5600 takes 2 pieces of line about 10" long. Originally it comes pre-loaded with .095 shaped trimmer line but it also takes .080 or .105. You can buy our pre-cut line models 5610 if you like the .095 line or 8040 if you prefer .080. You can cut your own.
Insert the New Line
Take a new piece of line and fold it in half. Insert one end in each of the small square holes. Keep pushing the line until the ends come out of the metal eyelets.
Pull the ends of the line to make it even on both sides.
Do the same thing for the other side and you are done!
If:
- The lines fly out of the head, make sure you followed the instructions above. If you stick one line in each hole instead of "weaving" it through the head, the lines will fly out.
Your GrassGator is now ready to use!
