Thread the Line Through the Head

Make sure the arrows on the spool are still aligned with the eyelets on the head. Insert one end of the line into one of the metal eyelets and keep pushing until it comes out the other end.

(4) Pull the Line to Make it Even on Both Sides

Keep pulling the line through the eyelets until you have the same amount on both sides.

Determine Which Way You Should Wind the Line

On the bottom of the spool housing you will see:

• "Straight shaft turn left" and an arrow pointing counter-clockwise. You should wind the line to the left or counter-clockwise if your trimmer is on a reverse (left hand) thread. Most straight shafts trimmers are on a reverse thread.
• "Curved shaft turn right" and an arrow pointing clockwise. You should wind the line to the right or clockwise if your trimmer is on a regular right hand thread. Most curved shafts trimmers are on a right hand thread.

Wind the line

Push the bump knob and turn it in the direction determined on step 5 to wind the line into the head. Keep going until only 6" or so are left showing on each side of the head.

Your GrassGator is now ready to use!
